We want to ensure you are prepared for a lifetime of driving. This means going above and beyond at every step so that when you take your Texas driving road test, you are genuinely ready for whatever comes next.

32-Hour Online Class for Teens

Take the 32-hour online teen driver education course. After passing the written test, you'll receive the certificate to obtain a learner's license at the DPS. This package is for the online course only and does not meet all state requirements for driver education.

Teen Road Test

One attempt for the DPS Road Test using our vehicle

You must be under 18 to register for this package. All documents must be provided on the day of your appointment. Refer to the list on this page for what to bring to your road test.

The road test is non-refundable. No-shows will be charged for a second attempt.

How to Obtain a Teen Learner's Permit

For Texas teens 15 to 17, obtaining a driver's license starts with getting a learner's license. You must have:

Completed at least six hours of the 32-hour course.
Pass the knowledge test as part of the course to obtain your course certificate.

Take the following items to the Texas DPS to apply for your permit:

Birth Certificate, US passport, or Resident Alien Card
Social Security Card
Verification of Enrollment (get from your high school)
Parent's Proof of Texas Residency (Two documents, i.e. utility bills)
Parent's Proof of Relationship to Student
Driver Ed Competition Certificate (from the driving school)
Parent must sign the Texas residency affidavit at the DPS.

A teenager with a learner's permit must be accompanied by a licensed adult 21 or older in the front passenger seat while driving.

How to Obtain a Driver's License

Register for a driver education with our driving school.
Complete the 32-hour online course.
Get your learner's license (permit) at the DPS.
Begin your behind-the-wheel driving lessons.
Complete at least 14 hours of driving lessons (7 behind-the-wheel and 7 observation) with our instructors.
Log 30 hours of additional driving with a licensed adult.
Obtain Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) certificate online.
Take the Texas DPS road test.
